After graduating from New York University in 2002 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Dr. Sebi Varghese honed her skills in the world of oncology rehabilitation during her 19-year career at one of the nation’s top cancer institutions. Her expertise includes managing early and late-stage symptoms following cancer treatments including mobility limitations, postural dysfunction and balance difficulties.
Sebi has extensive experience working with individuals following mastectomy/breast reconstruction, head and neck surgeries, abdominal and pelvic surgeries as well as individuals with spinal metastases, chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and radiation fibrosis. Sebi is also specialized in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, which includes management of bowel and bladder dysfunction, vaginal stenosis, and pelvic pain. Sebi also has experience working with individuals presenting with spinal dysfunction from poor body mechanics during computer use, driving, or playing an instrument.
After working with many individuals and health care professionals, Sebi understands that the physical and mental impact of the cancer journey extends beyond the end of treatment. Sebi brings a "whole" body approach to her treatment sessions and integrates all her areas of training to help the client be the most successful version of themselves. Through a combination of holistic manual therapy, exercise, breath work, and a personalized home program, Sebi helps individuals move through their physical limitations to achieve their long-term functional goals and help them return to the things they love to do.
When not at work, Sebi spends time with her husband, 3 beautiful children and their mischievous dog, Indiana Jones.
